Christmas 2018 window design concept was inspired by the decadence and glamour of thirties in Holywood.  Stage performers: musicians, lap dancers, singers and the world of silver-screen legends create the story of luxury, extravagance and glamour.

Selfridges design concept this year is wild and flamboyant.  Santa Claus is transformed in each window to a glamorous pop star figures that is rock ‘n’ rolling, zi-zi-topping and twisting in provocative poses. 5km of glitter curtains, glamour of Svarovski crystals in stage microphones, neon lights and overdose of velvet make a huge statement. The rock style of Christmas is fun and decadent.

Arnotts Christmas 2018 window display

Location: Henry Street, Dublin, Ireland

Arnotts, Christmas 2018 window concept

The story created by Irish illustrator Emma Sheridan is intimate and evokes memories. Little boy called Ben is the main character and the story shows his Christmas shopping day with his family. The story is magical because it is shown through the child’s eye: his visit to Santa, the toys he is dreaming off, the architecture that surrounds the department store.

It is truly a magical story and original concept to replace mannequins with bespoke figurines handmade by Sheridan’s design. Last but not least, the story relates to the local tradition of a big day of Christmas shopping that builds the anticipation for Christmas.
